Moving forward, giving back
When establishing CiCi in the summer of 2020, post Brexit and mid covid pandemic, our initial focus was to create a bespoke range of active wear leggings with bright, funky prints and inspiring messages. We wanted to help those low on confidence, battling illness or lacking motivation. This continues today.
CEO and Co-Founder Lisa, also lovingly known as CiCi by her friends and family, inspired the original collection whilst battling both Multiple Sclerosis and Type 1 Diabetes, along with numerous other debilitating illnesses. Aged just 33, Lisa was forced into early retirement from a job she loved working with young children as a Literacy Co-ordinator, and as a result, CiCi was born.
Following a successful launch from our living room, it soon became clear that we were more than just an active wear brand, we were a community. A community of likeminded people who wanted to support each other through the challenges that life was throwing at us.
In the words of one of our amazing customers: “CiCi is more than just clothing, it’s a safety blanket, a hug when you don’t quite feel right and a smile on the days you manage to get out adventuring”.
Since opening our first commercial , it became even more apparent that, whether it be our bright funky leggings or just a simple plain CiCi branded tee, we have customers who feel empowered when wearing our clothing.
We are tagged in pictures from around the world on a daily basis. Enjoying holidays, running marathons, relaxing at home, climbing mountains, fighting illness…
CiCi, due to her ongoing health conditions, is not able to carry out as much exercise as she would like, so being just another active wear brand didn’t sit right with us anymore. As a result, our product offering has expanded significantly over the past 3 years whilst staying true to our mission, and has grown into an inclusive lifestyle brand that promotes both positivity and self-love.
Lisa has a love for comfortable fashion and continues to oversee all of our collections alongside our growing design team. From bespoke funky leggings to our staple hoodies, super cosy sherpa fleeces to fully waterproof change robes, we have you covered.
